Reunion Weekend 2010 Class Officers Meeting

Planning gets underway for Reunion Weekend 2010 to be held June 4-6, 2010, with a special welcome to the Classes of 1930, 1935, 1940, 1945, 1950, 1955, 1965, 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, and 2005! And best wishes to the Class of 1960 as it celebrates its exciting 50th Reunion!

AADC Bus Trip: The Secret Gardens of New York
Join us for a tour with guide Tony Grifa RC’58, a licensed NYC tour guide, and owner and operator of I’ll Take Manhattan Tours, as we visit Central Park’s Shakespeare Garden, Swedish Cottage, Belvedere Castle, Turtle Pond, and Seneca Village Turf. We will tour the beautiful Conservatory Gardens and the Biblical Gardens of St John the Devine. As time permist, we may also visit the Audubon Terrace home of The Hispanic Society of America, the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and Boricua College.
We lunch on our own in Morningside Heights. Our tour guide will distribute a list of suggested lunch spots, including Toms Restaurant, the infamous diner on Seinfeld.
Tour Details: Meet at the Alumnae Center for a light breakfast at 8:00 a.m., bus departs for NYC at 8:45 am sharp and returns to Douglass at approximately 5:00 pm. Price per person is $40, and includes tour fee, bus transportation, light breakfast, and gratuity. Make checks payable to the AADC and mail to: 181 Ryders Lane, New Brunswick, NJ 08901, Attn: Bus Trip. (Participants must be ambulatory to complete this tour.)

Featuring alumna Susan Martin '68, who holds the Donald G. Herzberg Chair in International Migration and serves as the Director of the Institute for the Study of International Migration in the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.

Bountiful Harvest Culinary Class
Class will be taught by Nancy Schnieder ’94, a private chef and contributing writer for Inside NJ. The class will prepare a menu of roasted root vegetable salad, truffle vinaigrette; caramelized onion and apple tartletts with blue cheese crust, savory pumpkin bread pudding; and butternut squash mostarda appetizer. At the end of the class participants will receive a written booklet of all the recipes prepared.
Space is Limited: Cost per participant: $40 for active* members of the AADC, $50 for all others
